KfW Westarkaden

The office building of KfW Westarkaden consists of a 4-storey basement building and a 14-storey high-rise. Both buildings are founded on a 4-storey underground car park and have a surface of 38,300 m². The ground plan of the two buildings is curved. Their load-bearing structure of reinforced concrete is surrounded by a fully glazed, partially scaled facade. The colouring of the facade panels reflects the colours of the surrounding city and the Palm Garden park. In 2011 KfW Westarkaden received the “Best Tall Building Worldwide Award” of the CTBUH, a Chicago-based international association focusing on the design, construction and operation of tall buildings.
