Fraunhofer Darmstadt

The above-ground area of the new building for the Fraunhofer Institute in Darmstadt is glazed as a transparent shell. It consists of a single-story base building with a footprint of approx. 70 x 21 m. This is followed by an indented mezzanine floor and five upper floors, which are designed with a wood/aluminum ribbon window facade. The opaque areas between the window bands are clad with a folded aluminum envelope.
