Sculpture “Meistdeutigkeit”
Prof. Olaf Metzel’s sculpture in front of the former German parliamentary building in Bonn/Germany is basically made of thin-walled grooves. These grooves are u-shaped in the section and are connected to each other with spot-welded thin tubes. The spatial structure is made up of several spirals which are set into each other with increasing diameter upwards. With it’s dimensions of 6.50 m total height and 6 m maximum diameter this structure bears a remarkable wind and snow load.
