Lahnsteg Naunheim in Wetzlar

Lahnsteg Bridge Naunheim

A replacement has been designed for an existing footbridge that was built more than 110 years ago. Throughout its long life, this structure has carried pedestrians along the “Am Lahnsteg” route over the river Lahn and thus connected the centre of Naunheim with the Lahninsel recreation area to the south. Upon completion, the new bridge will feature an effective width of 4 m and allow both pedestrians and cyclists to cross. The overall construction consists of an elegant tiered-arch bridge made of steel that includes radial flat steel hangers and lighting that is integrated into the arch itself.
