The House of Astronomy is a research and teaching centre for astronomical issues. It is located at Königstuhl in Heidelberg/Germany, south-east of the existing building of Max-Planck-Institute for Astronomy. The building consists of open exhibition spaces, various offices and a multifunctional auditorium for approx. 100 persons. The three-storied building’s geometry is derived from the galaxy core and their spiralling arms. The facade rotating the centre of the building, along the open edge of the construction’s shell, is separated by a band of glass as well as convex and concave curved bands of balustrades.
