Rebuilding of Victoria Insurance

For the core renovation of the Victoria Insurance building in Munich, Werner Sobek was commissioned for the structural and facade engineering.

The old exterior facade was replaced by a natural stone facade with perforated windows, the interior facade by a wooden facade with sliding sashes and interior balconies. Extensive measures were required to add a new storey to the building – the load-bearing walls were reinforced with bonded CFRP or steel lamellas.

New Shell of Steel, Glass & Wood

The newly designed inner courtyard is covered by a glass roof, a sliding bridge serves as a bridge connection on the top floor and as a standing platform for cleaning the glass roof.
