Novartis Campus

The design for the six-storey laboratory building on the Novartis campus in Basel was based on the urban master plan by Vittorio Lampugnani. It is located in the immediate vicinity of other laboratory buildings designed by Frank Gehry, David Chipperfield, Adolf Krischanitz and Diener & Diener, among others.

According to Master Plan and in Good Architectural Neighbourhood

The facade construction consists of a storey-high mullion/transom facade with a stainless steel curtain as sun protection. Hanging large-format precast concrete elements form the closed areas of the facade. These concrete elements are characterised by their etched surface and minimal joint grid.
