The central element of this exhibition stand is a 3-dimensionally curved, semi-transparent wall-like shell which is 28 m long and between 4.5 and 5.2 m high. The load-bearing structure of this shell consists of individual bars (1306 in total) which are screwed into standardised node elements (477 in total). The orientation of the threaded holes in these nodes and the various lengths of bar allow an unlimited range of geometries to be produced without compromising the economy of the system. By means of structural and geometric optimisation the number of different bar lengths has been reduced to less than 300 – an excellent result in view of the geometric complexity of the stand structure.
