Tashkent Sport Stadium

Werner Sobek was commissioned with the structural engineering for the construction of a new sports park in Tashkent. In addition to a new football stadium, a sports boarding school, a building for the first team of FC Bunyodkor, an indoor swimming pool with an Olympic pool and smaller structures such as an energy centre and a media channel were built. The stadium has a capacity of approx. 35,000 spectators and was planned as a reinforced concrete construction with a light membrane roof.

Reinforced Concrete Construction with Lightweight Membrane Roof

The two-tier stadium has dimensions of approx. 220 x 180 m, the upper circle is almost 22 m above ground level. The entire stadium has an underground car park. The sports boarding school is a reinforced concrete skeleton structure with bracing wall panels. The three-storey complex with dimensions of approx. 120 m x 80 m offers the approximately 200 students not only school and living rooms but also a swimming pool and a gymnasium.
