Saudi Arabia Masterplan

The Saudi Arabia master plan developed by Werner Sobek represents the vision of a sustainable city. Embedded in the Arab tradition, it should simultaneously offer its users all the advantages and comfort of the most modern technologies. The aim of the master plan is a city with 60,000 to 85,000 inhabitants, equipped with modern infrastructure, schools, university, medical services, markets, mosques, etc. The city will be built on a site of 850 hectares. The total area is 850 ha.

Great Thermal Comfort through Simple Measures

The master plan integrates landscape elements and green areas, mainly with native plants. Private plots and places for public encounters are balanced here. The urban layout and the orientation of the individual houses respond to the climatic conditions on site, so that even simple planning measures can ensure great thermal comfort.
