House W

This residence of a young family in Hamburg is divided into two levels. The upper part appears to float above the highly transparent lower part. Bedrooms for parents and children are upstairs, while living and dining areas are to be found on the ground floor. The height of the bedrooms varies, with their lower parts protruding to varying degrees into the space lying below. The upper part of the house is made from prefabricated solid wood panels that could be assembled within a very short time frame.
