All Chalice Supports are in Place!
On 21 June 2023, the last of a total of 28 chalice supports at the new Stuttgart underground station was stripped – a milestone in the Stuttgart21 railway project. Our company founder Werner Sobek and Christoph Ingenhoven were also present at the ceremonial inspection – the Düsseldorf architect designed the chalices, Werner Sobek planned them.
Work on the goblet-shaped supports began six years ago, and now the light eyes are being installed. They each have a diameter of around 16 metres and provide daylight in the finished main station.
