Master of Optical Manipulation

Openings in a bridge and mirrored surfaces embedded between two slanted panes of glass – this is all it takes to create new visual relationships between the people on and under the bridge. This was realised by the artist Sarah Oppenheimer with her art project C-010106 installed on the campus of the University of Texas in Austin.

Sarah Oppenheimer’s works are known for subverting the viewer’s viewing habits. Werner Sobek was responsible for the structural engineering of this extraordinary art project.
