The choice of words when describing a critical issue has long been the subject of “framing research“, a branch of linguistics. The book “Miese Krise” (Lousy Crisis), recently published by Katapult-Verlag, warns against the deliberately misleading use of language, e.g. by lobbies, and is an entertaining publication that is definitely worth reading.
