Structural Design for High-Rise Buildings: Why the Focus on the Foundation is so Important

On 13.1.2023 our colleague Prof. Hans-Georg Reinke will give a lecture at the FH Carinthia in Spittal. The event will take place at 17:00 in lecture hall 115 (Audimax).

In his lecture, Hans-Georg Reinke will present examples of structural designs for new high-rise buildings in Frankfurt am Main and Düsseldorf. These regularly have up to 5 basement floors due to usage requirements. The effects of these high-rise buildings with heights of up to 240 m must be transferred safely and with little deformation into the building ground. The cooperation with the foundation experts is of great importance. The impact of the foundation design on the sustainability of the overall planning tasks is considerable.

Hans-Georg Reinke is a Senior Consultant at Werner Sobek Frankfurt and Professor at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences.
