Shade Structures Win Second Place in the Rethinking The Future Award 2022

The Rethinking The Future Award 2022 awarded our Shade Structures project at the Expo in Dubai second place for its special architectural innovation. The shading systems, which connect all the country pavilions on the Expo exhibition grounds, span an area of around 96,000 m ². Three different shading systems were used in Dubai: membrane surfaces Membrane surfaces, bird-shaped membrane elements and green pergolas. All three systems can absorb high deformations and thus enable a wide-span system that does not interfere with the visual axes. We are very happy about this beautiful award and congratulate the whole team on the well-deserved Rethinking the Future Award.
