Lucio Blandini is new head of ILEK

After almost 26 years, the management of the Institute for Lightweight Structures and Conceptual Design (ILEK) at the University of Stuttgart has changed from Werner Sobek to Lucio Blandini on April 1, 2020. Lucio Blandini is thus responsible with immediate effect for all administrative matters as well as for teaching and research at the institute. Werner Sobek will remain professor at the University of Stuttgart and (until 31  December 2020) spokesman of the SFB 1244. In addition to his professorship, Lucio Blandini will remain (with a reduced hourly budget) member of the board of Werner Sobek AG. Congratulations for this new and responsible position. We are pleased that the close connection between research and practical application, which is typical for our office, can be further strengthened and expanded by Lucio Blandini’s professorship.
