Stoeckach Stuttgart
EnBW is creating a 4.25 hectare, future-oriented urban quarter on the former “Stöckach” company site. In 2019, a competition was held for the realisation of the planned innovative and sustainable Stöckach-Areal quarter, which also included ideas from Stuttgart citizens. These impulses were recorded in a framework plan that was adopted by the Stuttgart City Council’s Committee for Urban Development and Technology (STA) in 2022.
Werner Sobek was commissioned with the sustainability assessment according to DGNB for no less than three projects on the site.
Sustainable Quarter with Affordable Housing
In the future, the new Stöckach-Areal is to create affordable housing on the scale of approx. 99,900 m² or around 800 flats, 40% of which are subsidised. In addition to flats, the neighbourhood is to accommodate various uses such as offices, culture, sports and social facilities as well as commerce.
The Stöckach site also has high sustainability standards. In the first construction phase, building blocks A and E as well as the entire quarter are to be certified according to the DGNB Platinum standard.
