Magazinhöfe

Werner Sobek AG was commissioned with the structural engineering, building physics and fire safety for the modernisation and renovation of the listed building at Magazinstraße 6-7 in Berlin. By 2026, around 14.000 m² of modern office and catering space with flexible partitioning options will be created here in the immediate vicinity of Alexanderplatz. One of the highlights of the revitalisation is the inclusion of four green inner courtyards that offer inviting spaces for rest and reflection.

Climate-Friendly Revitalisation in Listed Building

Due to the dual use of the patio floor as an underground car park and office floor, complex waterproofing using a horizontal barrier with plastic inserts in the masonry walls and columns is required. In addition, the floor slabs and beams damaged by a fire had to be replaced with new reinforced concrete beams and a timber-concrete composite ceiling. Overall, the revitalisation of Magazinstrasse 6-7 is to be carried out in accordance with the highest ESG criteria, with the aim of achieving LEED Gold and WiredScore Gold certification.
