Huawei
The master plan for the new research and development centre of the technology company Huawei took into account the picturesque landscape of the art city Hangzhou, capital of the Chinese province Zhejiang. It became the basic parameter for the arrangement of free-standing building modules.
Six buildings for research and administration are located along a water axis. This ensemble is complemented by two smaller modules for administrative and service units as well as a central canteen.
Landscape Determines Design
The main buildings are characterised by their green inner courtyards, which represent a continuation of the surrounding park landscape. Transparent building bases create a flowing transition between architecture and landscape.
